Is Frozen Overrated?
You know what the internet needs? Something else about Frozen. I know, you’re rolling your eyes. I can hear you from here. Is Frozen overrated? No, and I am going to tell you why.
You are shocked right now. I understand. You may need a moment to recover. I’ll wait.
I have heard every single reason you can imagine about Frozen being overrated. I’ve even seen people write lists about it. I am about to give you some reasons why Frozen is actually underrated. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but hear me out with an open mind.
Those first few notes of Let it Go start to play and your skin starts to crawl. Yeah, I get it, you have heard that song more times than there are snowflakes in the movie. Just because you are tired of hearing Let it Go over and over, doesn’t mean you should brush off the entire soundtrack. It’s loaded with charming songs like Do You Want to Build a Snowman, In Summer, Love is an Open Door, and so on. The soundtrack contains some pure Disney magic if you actually listen. Tunes that are catchy and make you instantly smile instead of cringe when they start up. Sure, a lot of the instrumentals from the movie are “skips,” but I do the same thing with Moana. And it’s an instant classic of a soundtrack as well.
Oh, come on. You can come up with a better excuse than the plot sucks and it doesn’t make sense. If my at-that-time four year old can make sense of it, so can you. I understand not enjoying it all, but I sure hope you can at least tell what happens in the movie. Sure, you can sit down and pick apart this movie and come up with
ridiculous plot holes but I can fire right back and disarm them pretty easily. So next time, clear your mind and just enjoy the main characters proving that girls are strong, family is important, and Olaf is awesome.

Like I said, Olaf is awesome. That is all.
He is a charming, witty, and lovable character and showed us that warm hugs are the best. As far as sidekicks go, you could do a lot worse. For example, most of them have skulls. And bones.
Just about every other Disney movie has a better villain(s,) but every movie can’t be the same. The Duke of Weselton wasn’t a menacing all-powerful wizard, he was just a selfish jerk. Disney gave an unique plot twist with Hans, but he was mainly just a selfish jerk, too. It’s almost like Elsa’s battle versus herself was the real antagonist in this film. But if that’s a bit too much like advanced storytelling to you, maybe just sit in the corner.. Anyway, if all villains were the same, it wouldn’t be very interesting at all.
Frozen is everywhere and will continue to be everywhere. You don’t have to hate this movie to love another one. I love Tangled, Moana, The Princess and the Frog, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast… Okay, I just love them all. That is what is so great about Disney. Each movie has it’s own charm and Frozen’s charm is way too often overlooked.
Please excuse me while I go countdown to the Olaf’s Frozen Adventure and Frozen 2.
