I love decorating for Valentine’s Day. It brightens the room after all the Christmas decorations are down and all you are left with is a gloomy January. Valentine’s Day gives me the perfect opportunity to bring out the red glitter and add some sparkle to the room. Since we are Mickey Mouse lovers around here, I decided to add a little Disney magic to the Valentine’s mix this year. This DIY Mickey Mouse Valentine Candy Jar is so cheap and easy to make.
Supplies

You will need a jar, Mickey sticker, Mod Podge, glitter, and ribbon for this project. Make sure the jar is smooth. You don’t want a bumpy Mickey. I used my Silhouette machine and scraps of vinyl to cut out a Mickey head. You could also just buy some Mickey stickers to use.
Process

Disclaimer before we start: you WILL get glitter everywhere. If you are like Jacob and squirm at even the thought of glitter, this might not be the project for you. If you are like me and glitter brings you great joy, can we be best friends? Just kidding. Maybe. Anyway, lay down newspaper at your work area so you’re not cleaning up glitter for the rest of the year. Place your Mickey sticker in the center of your jar. Cover the sticker with Mod Podge. Try not to get it on the actual jar. If any does, just wipe it away quickly. Then make it rain glitter. Pour glitter over the entire Mod Podged sticker. Then tap the jar on the table to get off any loose glitter. Tie a ribbon around the jar. I used pink and red. Fill your jar with Valentine candy and you are done.
More Disclaimers

I am not responsible for the glitter that you will constantly find around your house after completing this project. I am not responsible for little hands constantly trying to steal candy hearts. I am not responsible for any problems this may cause in your relationships when you fight over glitter. But I am responsible for causing such a cute DIY Mickey Mouse Valentine Candy Jar for your mantle. You’re welcome.
